Definitely pro more knife reviews. Actually, it was a knife reviewer that really got me into fountain pens! I don't know if you're familiar with Nick Shabazz, but he's a pocket knife reviewer that every once in a blue moon ends up reviewing a fountain pen. And it was his review of the TWSBI Eco that made me go "Hey! These things actually seem pretty cool!" and I bought one shortly after.

Good point about the humidity and knives. Now that’s a knife, Crocodile Dundee. The one-handed maneuvers are neat and I like the rhythm you had going. Some people play the spoons; you could start a knife band. I hope we see this on a Second Takes. I like the knife review.

Hey I’m not a “knife guy” but I have had a Benchmade Bali-Song for many, many years. The clip broke off circa Y2K and turned out it was a recall/warranty situation. So I sent the knife in and said while you’re at it, can you fix my chipped blade? They obliged. New clip, new blade. Free of charge. I was pleased. ✨ 🔪 ✨

Biggest waste of money. Mine writes like a rusty fish hook. One of my worst performing pens. That 200 was such a disappointment that it put me off fountain pen purchases from anyone for months. Trash. As overpriced as they are, they should work.

Lucky you! That's a great orange, and the translucent barrel is a great choice. I always think the M200/205 is a bit too small until I ink one up, and then I really enjoy writing with it.

I haven't had one of these but have been really considering it, because like you, there's a colorway that is very me-coded. It's so cool to see the method for removing the nib. Any hesitation I might have had about shimmer ink just evaporated.

That is a glowing orange. And I also appreciate being able to remove the nib on position fillers to clean them. The new Pelikansx with the stripes aren’t see-through, as I recall. Pity. That’s one of the aspects of those pens I like. Happy Surprise Pelikan Day, Mike!

I have this pen and I put my Richard Binder Condor nib in it. It is incredible! People are always saying that the m200 is too small but I agree with you, it's perfectly reasonable. I have Diamine Autumn Oak in mine right now but I'm almost out of ink so I need to think of what to use next! Anxious to see what you choose!

Love Pelikan, I recently got an M200 classic black from Amazon for 72 euros, the standard price is excessive but you always see them on bargain everywhere, guess they look too "old school" to be appealing, shame because they are really good pens.

My reaction to the Diamine inks with sheen and shimmer is that they make really interesting swatches, but I don't write with them. The many qualities (colour, sheen and shimmer) need a stub nib or something like that to show all of the qualities. Even in wet, broad nibs I find them to just look messy and sort of confusing. I sometimes say to myself that I will use them without the shimmer, and maybe I will start doing that. I wish the calendars focused less on inks with multiple properties. I understand that it's difficult to come up with new things each year, but the really good ones (for me) like Bah humbug, glacier, jacaranda, early dusk and velvet emerald are perhaps not the most exciting swatches, but they end up being used. That is important. The inks with fragrances have been more or less unusable, and I hope they skip those in the future. That being said I keep buying the calendars, and I'm sure I will buy it this year too. I still hope that they will add more single quality inks. A lovely colour, shading, triple shading, sheen (I love sheen), shimmer (less shimmer inks if it's up to me) and so on.

Ambivalence is the best feeling, like having your cake and eat it. Keep using that ink, keep wondering why. It is all good!😊

I have that same feeling with Lamy 'Dark Lilac'. Way too much sheen to enjoy the great lilac base colour.

Very good comparison between the two other burgundy (there may be more?) colors offered by Diamine! I enjoy both Writer's Blood and Oxblood, maybe I should add Burgundy Royale? I feel it has not as much shading as Writer's Blood. I talso looks like Diamine Syrah.

It kinda of reminds me of Diamine Jack Frost, probably one of my favorite blues. I can't quite tell if it sheens as much as Jack Frost though.

montblanc has a van. Gogh blue that kinds has that same color. Diamine Prussian Blue might be close, I don't. think that it has any sheen.

That is a very pleasing blue (“Keep this admiral off the seas”😂). I like all the blues you showed. I agree about the edger sheen. It gives one the best of both worlds. Sort of a halo effect? Are there any blues, especially in this sort of colour, with a green sheen? I know I’ve seen blues with green shimmer, I can’t recall a verdant sheener.

I think it's cool how much you seem to be enjoying The Wet Pens ink.

Lovely blue. This is just at the top of my head but in writing it looks comparable to Kon-peki but in a swatch it looks darker.
